Semper Solaris is a veteran owned solar and roofing company that was founded in 2012. Semper Solaris prides themselves in offering only American made equipment and an emphasis on supporting the military. The company is based out of San Diego but is available to service most areas in California.
Semper Solaris provides discounts to US veterans and takes pride in hiring military personnel after returning home from deployment. With that in mind, the niche market that Semper Solaris attracts feel proud and safe to choose a company that wants what’s best for Americans. Many feel comfortable going with Semper Solaris because veterans are recognized for their integrity, hard work and discipline.
Semper Solaris is a licensed roofing company which goes hand to hand with solar. In many instances a roof will not be in the right condition to install solar on. Semper Solaris is able to facilitate the need internally rather than outsource to 3rd party partners. Semper Solaris is a storage battery supplier as well, which is an important add on to a solar project if the customer is looking to be 100% energy independent.
Some have said that Semper Solaris project management team fails to communicate important changes in solar projects that result in delays. Delaying an already 2 to 3 month process can be very frustrating especially for something as avoidable as lack of communication.
Semper Solaris uses different installer partners all throughout California which results in inconsistent quality of work. Many reviews praise the efficiency and quality of work from installers, while others share the opposite feeling with two week long installations and messes left behind by workers.
Semper Solaris is only available in California which limits their capabilities to help provide solar to anywhere else in the country.

We decided that Semper Solaris will undertake the installation of our solar panel system because of their good reputation in the market as well as being veteran-owned. The Semper Solaris workforce are very professional from the Sales, design and installation. They are very accommodating and are always accessible for any concerns and queries regarding the project. So far we’re very pleased on the outcome of the solar panel project. We highly recommend Mr. Robert A. and Semper Solaris to others for solar panel system installations.
Can't state enough how good of an experience I had with Semper Solaris. Every single question answered, every phone call returned within a reasonable time frame, every email responded back to. These guys are all over it and I easily consider them TRUE professionals. Their solar and roofing installations are flawless. You can just tell they have a great working system from top to bottom. Very friendly and experienced and can't express enough how happy I am with everything. Definitely recommend them for Solar, Roofing, and HVAC.
Work with literally anyone else. I engaged Semper to install batteries and hook up existing solar panels I already had on my roof. This took them 2.5 years. I spoke to literally 30+ people over the course of the project, none of whom had any idea what was going on at any point. They failed inspection 3x. They installed a safety bollard in the middle of my garage turning it into a 1-car garage which obviously doesn't work. The cherry on top was that they reviewed my account and attributed this disaster to regulatory complications, when for instance my project languished in their design review for 6-wks while we underwent utility black outs during fire season and my children took freezing cold showers. These guys are clowns and one of the biggest time sucks of my adult experience. Use their competitors.
